Children's Mission Project
Help Us Share God's Love! You have enjoyed the ducks and chickens the children have passed out. We have discussed during the last few Sundays that our parents go grocery shopping, and from these trips, they make our meals. We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But there are children and families that do not have that privilege. We discussed how it would feel if we just didn't even get our favorite snack. We can make a difference. We can feed children like us!

Watch as our thermometer rises. Watch the faces of the children as they collect their quarters and money. Even children can do God's work. A child can make a difference.
Join us every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for worship services, offered both in person and online.
In-Person Worship:
Gather in the sanctuary, where you'll be greeted with warm smiles and welcoming hearts. Experience an atmosphere of reverence and joy as we come together to:
- Sing hymns

- Receive an inspiring message from our pastor
For those who prefer or need to stay home, we offer a virtual worship experience through our website and social media platforms. This online service includes many of the same elements as our in-person gatherings, such as prayers, hymns, and sermons, allowing you to connect with God and your faith community from anywhere.

Our Giving Tree continues its tradition of helping those in need! Throughout November and December, we will be collecting mittens, scarves, socks, and other winter essentials for children in our community.
Together, we can help keep little hands and hearts warm this winter. How many items can we collect? Every donation makes a difference!

Upcoming Bible Study opportunities
As we start to approach the Advent season, we are starting a short 4-week Study titled "Loving Our Neighbors". There is no book required. "Loving Our Neighbors" is a four-week Bible study by Jon Rhiddlehoover. It guides Christians to value others through four steps: welcoming neighbors as God’s image, listening without judgment, speaking life-giving words, and serving with genuine generosity to glorify Jesus. As in the past, we will meet at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm for a one-hour class starting on Monday, November 2nd through November 16th.
Then please join us in an Advent study at 5:00 pm beginning on Tuesday, December 1st. Pastor Tricia will lead us through Epiphany in this study. You will also be able to join us via Zoom if you wish.
We are excited to give our children the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families around the world through Heifer International!
Through this special mission project, our children are learning the joy of giving, the importance of helping others, and how even the smallest acts of kindness can share God's love.

Join Hiram's Helpers from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. We will begin with a Bible devotion and snacks, followed by work around the church on projects. All are welcome to join us for this time of work and fellowship.
Hiram's Helpers are committed to ensuring that no child or grandparent misses camp due to financial concerns. Proceeds from the Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner brought in $400 to help ensure kids can go to camp. For November, we are collecting pancake mix and syrup.
As of November 1st, we have collected 7 packages of pancake mix, 10 bottles of syrup, and 8 other items for a total of 25 items.
Our Food Pantry Outreach program relies heavily on the generosity of church members and visitors.
Donations can be dropped off in the designated collection bins in the church lobby during regular business hours or before and after Sunday worship services.
Volunteers sort and package the donated items into care packages that are distributed to individuals and families in need. Through this outreach initiative, McMurry UMC aims to help Avondale Church provide not only physical nourishment but also dignity and hope to those in our surrounding community.
