Join us every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for worship services, offered both in-person and online.
In-Person Worship:
Gather in the sanctuary, where you'll be greeted with warm smiles and welcoming hearts. Experience an atmosphere of reverence and joy as we come together to:
- Sing hymns
- Pray together
- Hear Scripture readings
- Receive an inspiring message from our pastor
For those who prefer or need to stay home, we offer a virtual worship experience through our website and social media platforms. This online service includes many of the same elements as our in-person gatherings, such as prayers, hymns, and sermons, allowing you to connect with God and your faith community from anywhere.

"Share Your Prayer Requests"
Our Prayer Board is here for you!
How it works:
- Write your request on the slip provided.

- Place it in the Prayer Basket.

Hearts and Hands Women's Group
McMurry United Methodist Church - Multi-Purpose Room
4th Tuesday of every month
Join us each month for a special time of faith, creativity, and connection!
We enjoy a delightful mix of:
• Short Bible devotions
• Crafts
• Snacks
• Fellowship
Each gathering begins with a brief devotion, followed by fun and meaningful craft projects. We wrap up with snacks and time to connect with other women in the community.
Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just looking for a welcoming and supportive group, all are welcome!
We can't wait to see you there!

Join Hiram's Helpers. They will begin with breakfast, followed by a Bible devotion. After the devotion, they will work on various projects around the church. All are welcome to join in this time of fellowship and working together.
Come be a part of a community where camaraderie and purpose intertwine. Together, we explore our faith through meaningful Bible devotions and engage in purposeful work around the church. Every helping hand is valued as we foster fellowship and a shared commitment to community service.
Though originally a men's group, Hiram's Helpers is now open to everyone who wants to get involved—regardless of age or gender. If you have a heart to serve, you're welcome here.
Meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month, starting with a hearty breakfast that sets the tone for our discussions and activities.
This is a time for connection, reflection, and renewal of spirit. Join us as we gather to grow together in faith and service!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Join Us for Lunch with the Old Class!
Every Monday of the month, the old class gathers for lunch at Red Door Woodfired Grill in Liberty, MO, at 12:30 p.m.
Enjoy $5 classic hamburgers and great conversation!
Please pass the word along and let Lorie Weber know if you plan to attend by calling or texting 816-674-3998. This will help us make reservations.
Everyone is welcome! There's no formal lesson- just the valuable lessons we learn from each other while visiting. I've certainly learned a lot from each of you!
We hope to see you there!

McMurry is blessed with a caring and committed congregation, and we're inviting you to be part of the joy of serving!
Each week, we highlight one or two areas where volunteers are needed.
If you feel called to help in any of these areas, please reach out.
We've added Fellowship Time as a new opportunity.
If you'd like to support the church by helping during Fellowship Time, please contact Carol at the office or speak with her on Sundays. She'll be happy to show you how you can help.
Recently, we added two more important areas:
• Ushering
• Assisting with Communion
We already have a wonderful team helping with these ministries, but we'd love to give them a break now and then.
If you're interested in ushering, please let Carol or Shirley Votipka know.
If you'd like to help with Communion, talk to Carol.

Thank you, McMurry family, for prayerfully considering these opportunities to serve God through the church!

For August
We are collecting kidney beans & chili beans.
As of Sunday, August 24th, we had 180 cans of beans and 84 other items for a total of 264 items. Way to go, McMurry!
Next month, we will collect peanut butter and jelly.
Our Food Pantry Outreach program relies heavily on the generosity of church members and visitors.
Donations can be dropped off in the designated collection bins in the church lobby during regular business hours or before and after Sunday worship services.
Volunteers sort and package the donated items into care packages that are distributed to individuals and families in need. Through this outreach initiative, McMurry UMC aims to help Avondale Church provide not only physical nourishment but also dignity and hope to those in our surrounding community.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
